My name
is Mrs. Maria Salomé Loomis and I am originally from Ecuador. I grew up in a
small town called Cuenca in Ecuador, where I completed my undergraduate degree.
I graduated as a Regular and Special Education Teacher at the University of
Cuenca- Ecuador. I
have my master’s degree of Teaching Spanish as a Second Language “La enseñanza del español como segundo
idioma” at the University of Barcelona-España.
This year I feel fortunate to be able to work with a
beautiful woman whom I would like to introduce to you all, our Teacher Assistant
Mrs. Luz Stella Cala-Holstein. She was
born in Colombia and moved to the United States on 2010. She loves to work with children because she
enjoys seeing each day how they increase their knowledge.
When
you walk in our classroom you will notice four corners; each corner represents
a country. As our school becomes a Global School, we will be working on our
country corners: United States of America corner (Kindergarten Global theme and
where most of our students are from), Ecuador corner and Chile corner (where Sra. Loomis is from) and Colombia corner (where Sra. Cala is from).
We will be learning through this school year about each of them.
Also, as
educators and students learn and live the 7 Habits at school, they naturally
will begin to apply them at home. You all are probably asking yourselves: What
are the 7 Habits? And the answer is: The 7 habits = The Leader in Me, which is
a process of school and personal effectiveness that is based on timeless
universal principals of leadership. We will be teaching it along this school
year of how to discovery the Leader IN ME.
If you
would like to contact me for any reason, please do not hesitate to send me an
email anytime at maria.loomis@bcsemail.org I will be checking my
email several times during the school day and I will answer them as soon as
possible.
If it’s
is not possible to contact me by email, you may call the school at any time
during school hours at 828-654-1800.
Abrazos,
Sra. Loomis
