Meet the Teacher

  • I'm absolutely thrilled to start my fourth year at Glen Arden Elementary. This is my eighth year teaching elementary school. I have taught 5th, 3rd, and 1st grade with my student teaching in kindergarten and 4th grade. I became a teacher after working for 8 years in Los Angeles in television and film production. I have a Bachelor of Science in Video Production from Ithaca College in NY. While living in L.A., I realized that my heart was in education (which I always knew growing up!). I earned my teaching credential at California State University, Long Beach. I love the adventures and challenges of teaching and really enjoy finding ways to reach every student in my class.

Outside of school I spend most of my time outdoors enjoying the mountains of WNC with my dog, Jasper and my husband, Josh. I live for adventures, road trips, travel, camping, and hiking. I lead a very active lifestyle and love living in Asheville!

I'm so happy to be a part of the Glen Arden community and look forward to getting to know all the students and families in my class this year. I'm co-coordinator of our school Lighthouse Team for The Leader in Me and also a part of our district's Partners in Education program with LEAF focusing on integrating arts education in the classroom.
We have a lot to learn in third grade and I look forward to a fun year!
