Information about the P-EBT program


Buncombe County Schools Breakfast/Lunch
Starting March 16, Buncombe County Schools will be serving breakfast from 7:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays to anyone 2-18 years of age at the following locations. (Weekend meals will be distributed on Fridays during lunch times at all sites.)

In addition to our school meal sites, Buncombe County schools are delivering meals to high population areas of our community for children 2-18 years of age. Call 828-255-5932 to let us know about the needs in your area. (Please note, you must be in an area eligible for this service.)

*No identification is necessary to receive a meal.

Biscuit Head - One free biscuit per school aged child each day schools are closed

Fuddruckers Asheville - Get one free kid's meal with purchase of adult meal Mon-Fri all day - Take out included

El Charro - Free kids meal once a day from 3/16-3/27. Voucher sheets are available at the register - temporary curbside service also available - 1788 Hendersonville Rd 28803

YMCA Meals
The YMCA continues to host regular no-cost mobile produce markets, using pre-packed bags to prevent any additional exposure/contact. Additionally, weekend meals will be served on Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at the Ferguson YMCA (31 Westridge Market Place, Candler, NC 28715).

Bounty & Soul (Black Mountain)
Bounty & Soul will be hosting drive-thru pick up sites for participants to collect pre-made healthy food boxes. Sites are open on Tuesdays at the St. James Episcopal Church (424 W State St, Black Mountain, NC 28711) parking lot from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. and Fridays at Black Mountain Presbyterian Church (117 Montreat Rd, Black Mountain, NC 28711) parking lot from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. Guests are asked not to arrive earlier than the scheduled times.

Calvary Episcopal Church Food Pantry

Calvary has boxed food distribution Saturday mornings from 8-11am. It is drive through only and includes TEFAP additional food distribution (aka extra food for each family!!). Milks, eggs and produce are also distributed.

Calvary Episcopal Church Update (4/22/20):
In order to keep in compliance with current public health recommendations during the COVID-19 pandemic, we have instituted the following guidelines and operations practice for the foreseeable future. Pre-packed boxes of food will be distributed to pantry clients by way of drive-through service. Volunteer opportunities will be available Friday and Saturday of this week (see below). Please note that we will send out weekly updates to help keep our volunteers and community members informed of our practices.

New Traffic Pattern for Pantry Clients: one-way drive thru starting at the Old Airport Road entrance then to the front doors of the food pantry to have food loaded in cars, and exit thru the churchyard thru our beautiful gates and out on to Hendersonville Road.

Travel Authorization Letter Needed

NOTE: No more than 5 volunteers will be inside the building at a time. Clients will need to stay in their vehicles and will not have access to the building. All volunteers will observe the ‘6 feet rule’ to keep interactions to a minimum.
