Chambers, Amy - Art

Welcome to my Classroom
Amy Chambers

This is my 14th year teaching exceptional children at Glen Arden.

During my eighteen years as an educator, I've worked with middle schoolers in the Progressive Education Program, resource students at Estes Elementary, and middle and high school art students at the Swannanoa Valley Youth Development Center.  This year I am working mostly with 2nd and 3rd graders, but I am also getting some time with 1st and 4th graders.  I love having the chance to work with so many different grade levels.

I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art and a K-12 teaching certification from UNC-Asheville in 2000. In August of 2007, I completed my master's degree in special education at WCU. In 2008, I received National Board Certification.

I live in Asheville.  My oldest son recently graduated, and I have a second grader here at Glen Arden.  We love public schools, and I'm so happy with the education that my boys have gotten here in Buncombe County.
I absolutely love coming to work each day, and watching my students grow and learn!
My students and I love DonorsChoose, and have gotten some great materials that make our classroom fun and engaging.  If you'd like to help us out go to our class page here and check out our latest dream project.
