Dress Code

Students are encouraged to wear comfortable clothes and shoes that will permit all types of activities.  Hats and bandanas cannot be worn in the building except on special designated daysBagged or slacking pants are not permitted. T-shirts with inappropriate messages are not permitted. Fourth grade will follow middle school guidelines: no spaghetti straps without additional covering, no tank tops or crop tops. We request that parents follow the same guidelines.  Teachers have the right to confiscate distracting accessories.

SHOES     North Carolina Healthy Child regulations require that every student participate in 150 minutes of physical activity weekly. Thus, each day students have either Recess or P.E. THEREFORE, APPROPRIATE SHOES FOR RUNNING AND PLAYING MUST BE WORN DAILY. Please remember to wear tennis shoes on the day the class is scheduled for physical education.  Platform shoes, flip-flops, roller blade combination shoes or slide tennis shoes, will not be allowed in the gym, as they are a safety hazard. Heelys are not allowed at school.  Flip-flops are a safety hazard.  If students wear them, we encourage them to have a strap on the heel, but we prefer that students NOT wear flip-flops.

Each year we have many items in lost and found that are never claimed.  It is very important that you label all coats, jackets, gloves, lunch boxes, etc. with your child's name.  Without a nametag, we cannot find the owner.  Should any item, clothing or otherwise, be misplaced, there is a "Lost and Found Train" in the hallway at the back door of the main hall.  Please feel free to check it occasionally.
